Sharing Platform

In order to provide technical support for marine surveys, Marine Instrument Sharing Platform centralizes the lab’s field equipment to conduct unified management and shared use.

There are many professional observation equipment pieces in the areas of physical oceanography, marine remote sensing and ecological environment, including measuring equipment such as Conductivity-Temperature-Depth (CTD) Profiler, Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP), Turbulence Measuring Instrument, Multi-parameter Water Quality Instrument, Argo buoy. The Platform is also equipped with secondary measuring equipment, such as Acoustic Modem, Acoustic Release, high-resolution GPS (DGPS), Beidou Navigation Satellite System (BDS). The equipment is open to the public provided that it meets the needs of the lab first and the sharing of the equipment should be in accordance with the Sharing Management Approach of the Equipment of State Key Laboratory of Satellite Ocean Environment Dynamics. The Platform also actively carries out tasks, such as independent research and development, integration and update of equipment. It has developed Coastal Acoustic Tomography, Soliton and Bio-buoy Real-time Monitoring System, and Trawl-Resistant Bottom Mount (TRBM), and has obtained four invention patents, which has not only saved a lot of funds needed to purchase imported equipment, but also improved the observation methods, thus improving the quality of observation data and reducing the loss of equipment.
