Application Guideline for SOED 2021-2022 Youth Visiting “Ocean-Star Scholarship”
In order to promote scientific research and academic cooperation, State Key Laboratory of Satellite Ocean Environment Dynamics (SOED) invites qualified researchers to apply for Youth Visiting “Ocean-Star Scholarship”. Application processes and management regulations are as follows.
I. Who Could Apply
Domestic and overseas scholars and scientists under 45 years old.
II. Sponsored Research Fields
The three main research fields of SOED: 1) marine satellite remote sensing technology and application, 2) ocean dynamic processes and marine eco-environment, and 3) ocean circulation and climate change; and the related interdisciplinary fields.
III. Sponsor System
1. Source of Funds: Operating funds of SOED.
2. Quota of Sponsored Fund: SOED offers Youth Visiting “Ocean-Star Scholars” living allowances of RMB 7,500 to 15, 000 per month. Meanwhile, SOED offers a reimbursement quota of RMB 8,000 per year for travel expenses.
3. Period of Employment:
A single period of employment extends to two years.
IV. Approval Processes
1. Submitting Application: The applicant should first complete the Youth Visiting “Ocean-Star Scholarship” application form of SOED，the latest curriculum vitae should be attached as well. The applicant may contact his/her intended collaborator at SOED first, and the two parties could submit the application to SOED jointly. Or else, the applicant could submit the application materials on his/her own, and the Administrative Committee of SOED would recommend a collaborator.
2. Approval: The Administrative Committee of SOED will evaluate each application (including the presentation) once a year.
V. Copy Rights of Academic Achievements
The intellectual property rights of the research achievement made by a visiting scholar during his/her term of employment at SOED is reserved jointly by the “Ocean-Star Scholar,” and SOED. The visiting scholar is the lead author, while SOED signed as the first contact institution. The signature is as follows:
