SOED Scientist Dr. CHEN Peng and SOED Young Visiting Ocean-Star Scholar Jointly Published Two Books

Recently, Dr. CHEN Peng, an associate researcher of SOED, and Dr. FAN Kaiguo, SOED Young Visiting Ocean-Star Scholar, together with scientists from Ocean University of China, Institute of Remote Sensing and Digital Earth Chinese Academy of Sciences, and National University of Defense Technology, jointly wrote Spaceborne Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) Remote Sensing of Atmosphere and Image Interpretation and Spaceborne Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) Remote Sensing of Ocean and Image Interpretation, published by China Ocean Press. Academician PAN Delu wrote the preface in the midst of pressing affairs, encouraging young researchers continuing to forge ahead.

Based on the research of ocean remote sensing in recent years and the latest research results of scientists domestic and abroad, these two books interpret much typical atmospheric and oceanic phenomena observed by SAR, such as atmospheric internal wave, boundary layer convection, tropical cyclone, atmosphere fronts, and rain mass, etc. and shallow water topography, ocean internal wave, ocean fronts, mesoscale eddies, wave, upwelling, ocean trail, and sea ice, etc.
